First and foremost, I AM FOREVER CANADIAN. Best day in my life in terms of politics was when Polievre lost his seat to a determined, but truly civil, good man.

I would not have picked the Toronto Blue Jays to be the ones to lift Canada up during this time when we're under attack from America - but Wow - they sure are. Best in the American League. Doing Canada Proud boys!

Today while doing our twice monthly grocery shop, I discovered that Canada's Chapman's has PEANUT BUTTER AND CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM.
Balm for the soul. Food fit for Gods. I kid you not.

Defeating Trump's misnamed 'big beautiful bill' would be the biggest gift you could ever give to your children and indeed, your grandchildren. America is teetering on the edge of a disaster the results of which will last for generations.

Here's a #6 on the same subject - Poilievre, in case you missed it. Short thread, very long on comments:

Today Poilievre came out of All Party Leaders meeting with the PM and immediately took Trump's side with his new slogan that 'the border is broken'. This is a complete betrayal of Canada. It is in no way broken, especially relative to America's own southern border but Trump 1/3

Thank you to everyone who's been retweeting this thread. And 'liking' it. I've watched the 'likes' decrease daily since the migration to a 'nice' place began - folks who've ended their accounts here I assume. Makes me appreciate even more all of you here.

Just because... Poilievre had flags made saying 'Poilievre for PM' when the Convoy rolled into Ottawa while Erin O'Toole was still CPC Leader -
Just because he ordered that all Convoy related emails be copied to him -
Just because Interim leader Bergen said 1/ 5

@1MikeMorris Poilievre's use of "I" instead of "we" says it all. "I will decide". "My laws." Please, Canada. Don't give this man a majority govt. We'll never be the same.

I want you to imagine a jigsaw puzzle. It took a long time to complete but it is finished. Look at it. It's an image of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, enshrined within our Constitution. 1/5 https://t.co/dWXBJ7NwFK

@1MikeMorris Don't forget to add to list of Poilievre's plans, directing the Bank of Canada, RCMP from the PMO. He's a tyrant in waiting.

After listening to Poilievre's speech to police it seems fair to sum it up as this:
'I will decide. Not the Supreme Court. I will decide. My Laws.'
Never mind the threats from China, or India or Russia, etc.
The biggest threat to Canadian Democracy is coming from inside the House

Note: Some of you will think this sounds familiar. That's because I've been writing about it for a few years now and under Poilievre, the dangers have only increased enormously. Just think about how quickly USA's Roe vs Wade was done away with. Our Charter is NOT immune.

I am going to add this re the issue of disposing of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. The infamous Keenan Bexte was literally drooling about the possibilities... but most CPC wouldn't be honest enough to admit that's their plan. 4/4 https://t.co/AAtnH5uXWN

The House of Commons, the Senate, and two thirds of the provinces representing over 50 percent of Canadians approving of removing it from our Constitution. Could that ever happen? Yes it could, under a Pierre Poilievre majority Government. 3/4

Charter of Rights and Freedoms enshrined in our Constitution in 1982. Harper loathed it because our Supreme Court is bound to make decisions based on what it prescribes. Going back to 'pre-Charter' time would get rid of a lot of annoying 'values'. All that would take would be 2/4

A visit to the Conservative Party of Canada Constitution website:
As a very young man, Poilievre said the worst thing about Canada was its 'welfare state'. He hasn't changed his opinion one iota. His 20 year track record voting AGAINST support programs demonstrates this. 1/7

On Pierre Poilievre's campaign website, he lists 4 priorities. #2 is 'RECLAIM CANADIAN VALUES'. Quote: "We need to get back to the basics. It’s time to stand up for fundamental Canadian values and protect Canadians’ freedom of speech and belief."
The question becomes...
