In this case Congress passed a bill and was signed into law by the president. Not an easy thing to do.
Plus add to that that the current court has been telling Congress over and over that if they don't like

Another lesson from the TikTok ban everyone is glossing over:
SCOTUS motivated upholding the ban with the *specific* argument that *national security concerns can trump free speech rights.*
This is so massive in the US political context.
Imagine this argument during COVID.

Il faut noter que si la loi est bien entrée en vigueur, personne ne l’a encore mise en application.
TikTok pourrait tout à fait rester disponible (et voir ce que fait Trump).
Leur décision de bloquer l’app est surtout une technique de comm.
