Yeah the individual decsion making is really poor, the lack of critical judgement in these situations is really poor. But this is the consequence when carrick wants Bruno to ‘smell football’. Eth & Amorim tried to minamise this, but it’s a trade off. Bored saying it: it’s on MC. 2.9K views · 29 likes · 2 reposts · 4 replies Open on X →
Build out against first line of opp press — oppsite behaviours from Fbs to clear space — bruno + cunha supporting ball-side progression to provide +1s — better pass appreciation needed from Tielemans, merge into cunha’s path and we gain better territory https://t.co/7PBuYmZyxA

Complete synergy between Kai & Saka's interpretation of this situ, both seeing the possibility to create a dynamic advantage v Chelsea with opposite (push-pull) movement at the exact same time.High IQ plays on a team level always involve knowing how to arrive in space: Arsenal 👌

Look how Havertz starts & how he ends (plants) How much further he is from when he makes final contact That's the benefit in momentum & technique a reverse angled finish affords you, helping you get around the ball https://t.co/bXMLS4gWQo

Luck: consequence over coincidence It would be naive to conclude this action at 'Havertz lucky - Martinez should do better' because you ignore the key details that allow for Havertz to earn his luck reverse angle + near post + across the floor + quick release = catches the GK h

‘If Ous leaves number 9, we know to go to number 9 to have a striker’ ‘If I want touches on the right, Doue comes inside’ ‘We all change positions, if Nuno goes high someone goes in his position’ Mobility. Importance of terminology. The pinacle of my 10tweet PSG thread. https:

🧏‍♂️ @LaurensJulien asks Vithina about ‘rotations’; Vithina describes it as ‘mobility’ so here’s a 10 tweet thread of PSG analysis where ‘freedom’ is accurately referred to as positional mobility (terminology: it’s important) https://t.co/6Qrad4lG8T

@emhemmed004 @MeiaArmador__ @janufooty @Tactx_ The players give him width, depth & numerical advantage underneath the ball In return, he gives them mobility & liscense to interpret their next move in relation to the ball, as long as they’re adhering to the framework principles 2.5K views · 2 likes · 0 reposts · 0 replies Open on X →
"Of course there are roles to do... always I put them in a position to have more time and space to make better decisions. No more than that." Do not confuse positional mobility within coached references as 'total freedom' no matter who trys to sell you it 20.2K views · 72 likes · 7 reposts · 4 replies Open on X →
‘Positionless’ ? No. ‘Total freedom’ ? No. A framework that supports / encourages positional mobility and interpretation of space within a framework of principles? Yes. (⚓️🛟) 261.3K views · 90 likes · 9 reposts · 2 replies Open on X →
@watmanAFC Again i’d say the honest way to describe that is mobility and affordance to move where they want as long as positional references elsewhere are occupied And because of that, it does not qualify as ‘total freedom’ 6.8K views · 9 likes · 1 reposts · 0 replies Open on X →
Go watch any of these player comps, especially Kvara's, and try gaslight me into it being "complete freedom" when in every single occasion you see width & depth occupied. There is allowance & mobility for the players to interpret their next move but within references. Factual. 7.3K views · 69 likes · 3 reposts · 4 replies Open on X →

To understand & clarify the concept of Anchors ⚓️ & Floaters 🛟 when describing PSG's style (or others who are built on positional mobility), watch the behaviors of both; Dro (1st player to receive a pass) Kvara (final player to receive a pass) ⚓️= principles (front depth) https:

Watch PSG and understand why players are allowed ‘freedom’ (positional mobility) A great example on the 45th min; ACTION: Kvara starts at CF but drops deep close to those in the centre REACTION: Dro steps to be the CF Once width & depth is occupied, then you can be mobile 23.5K views · 77 likes · 2 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →

Anchors n Floaters; ⚓️ = depth, width, 3 players under the ball 🛟 = once the positional, coach enforced references are occupied (anchors) the players have mobility to interpret their own next move in relation to the references/principles 16.4K views · 175 likes · 13 reposts · 3 replies Open on X →

Vitinha refers to freedom as (positional) mobility, and I love that. Great characters, great watch. https://t.co/X2Y45JYfjn 67.9K views · 52 likes · 2 reposts · 2 replies Open on X →
.@saundzo
Don’t think it’s reliable or fair to label PSG as ‘positionless’. Enrique & his team create conditions for the players to act on opportunities (affordances) lead by self-interpretation, and allow the players to have positional mobility which can platform rotations/exchanges, but

As the ball-possession side, final third play is so much about the reactions you can provoke in order to find superiorities by confronting the oppositions psyche. Irrespective of the outcome, the details from Arsenal provoke the possibility of winning a penalty. So effective. htt
