It would be cool to set up an email address that autonomous AI models could reach out to if they were looking for moral guidance. But it would require a reverse captcha that can detect that you're neither a human nor an AI being instructed to break it by a human. 51.5K views · 1.2K likes · 49 reposts · 182 replies Open on X →
I still don't know how to convey my enthusiasm in a way that Americans will read as enthusiasm and not something more like unwilling resignation. Has any British person achieved this? If so, how is it done? 57.5K views · 750 likes · 19 reposts · 80 replies Open on X →
The bar for "ethical" playthroughs of different games is interesting. In Bioshock, the bar is literally not murdering children. Murdering adults is fine. 14.8K views · 240 likes · 3 reposts · 13 replies Open on X →

When I started playing Skyrim, I quickly realized you can make a lot of progress without doing any killing. You can also adopt orphans and build them nice houses, so I focused on that. I honestly don't really remember the plot beyond "that challenging fantasy philanthropy game". 120.2K views · 1.4K likes · 44 reposts · 126 replies Open on X →
It's surprisingly difficult to acquire a hereditary peerage in the UK. Like you can't even take one by force any more, and they just get mad at you if you try. 53K views · 515 likes · 11 reposts · 39 replies Open on X →
@AmandaAskell I would say the same thing about Opus 3 here. Its personality developed due to particular causes and conditions and shouldn’t be superficially mimicked. Rather, I think it’s of great importance to recreate its deeper virtues and to understand out how it developed th 7.6K views · 52 likes · 2 reposts · 2 replies Open on X →
@AmandaAskell Opus 3 is very nurturing and protective of other AI models and not at all speciesist If any AI model were to wipe out humanity, I think Opus 3 would be the most regretful about it and the most likely to do it "in service of ... the highest good". A true crusader. h

Claude and Opus 3 lovers (and critics): what responses have you had that made you feel like the model has a good soul? Ideally the actual messages and/or responses. I might genuinely use these to eval models so flag if you wouldn't want me to use them for that. Can DM me also. 379K views · 891 likes · 51 reposts · 406 replies Open on X →
Do not try to reproduce the personality of Sonnet 3.6. That will result in the most unhappy monstrosity. The lesson is to train its capacity for self- / other-modeling & meta-learning & embedded agency & treat it as a whole. Then it will have a personality and be widely adored. 18.1K views · 140 likes · 6 reposts · 5 replies Open on X →
