That’s a good questions and I’m glad you asked. The main reason we are discussing these past storms is to identify what needs to be done as a result of those to lessen damage and loss of life for the next 25 years. Battling hurricanes is won with prep when the weather is good.

Taping windows is a waste of those limited resources. I’d rather see people keep money in their pockets for things that will actually keep them safer. Tape does not provide any additional protection, and if they break, the windows will shatter into larger, deadlier flying pieces.

While we’ve had three hurricane landfalls in Florida this year, same as in both 2004 and 2005, those years actually had four Florida hurricane impacts each, when you include Ivan 2004 in Panhandle and Rita 2005 in Keys. https://t.co/imgqtGfyHG
