And we're missing huge amounts of data, in order of how much (smallest to largest): BC, Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia and then the rest of Atlantic Canada (they're too precious to tell us where people died).

We did go 44 days in November 2021 without reported COVID deaths, till Omicron showed up. But still, this combined with the low number of deaths in Quebec (the only jurisdiction still reporting regularly and useful data) is really, really good news.

Of course, you can see that in April 2022 there was also a sizable gap in time between hitting the next interval of 1000 deaths so all we can do is hope that this is a trend that continues. Though, if we crossed it on April 4 and we are in the 200s today, you can do the math.

There are no deaths, at all, reported in Quebec's seniors' residences and just three deaths reported in the CHSLDs.
That is far fewer than the 280 or so deaths that I reported on April 12, 2020 -- the first night that I started this list.

We passed another interval of 1000 deaths since April 2 -- my estimate based on PHAC information places it around April 4.
Here is an incredibly hopeful graph.
You can see this interval since the last jump by 1000 deaths is 47 days -- the longest we've gone since July 2021. ht

Of the 52,247 people who have died from COVID-19 in Canada, I've linked 22,137 deaths to 2544 residential care facilities and 256 deaths to workplace COVID-19 infections. That's 2 new deaths and no new facilities added since April 2.
