@_VitaminT__ Unbelievable work as always
Unbelievle stats
If this continues for the next few games board seriously need to recognise the need for change
Doubt a new manager can achieve anything better than a top 6 finish but it's better than the unthinkable

It’s going to be a long long season troops.
Poorly coached and lacking quality.

One creator, no depth.
In most games one node (player) carries the highest xTChain, opposition managers nullify us easily, stop that player, stop Aberdeen.
And the network is vertically compressed. Nothing stretches anybody, so the ball goes wide by default.

The front line is detached.
In the four pass maps the forwards sit as small, barely connected nodes while the rest of the team clusters behind.
The strikers aren’t missing chances. They simply aren’t receiving the ball.
Player nodes;
Red = high threat
Blue = low threat https

Threat from the wrong places.
The xT heatmaps light up in wide touchline zones, not central areas in front of goal.
Final-third entries are long diagonals from deep, a lot of them incomplete.
Deep, wide, long is not a plan, it’s hit and hope. https://t.co/LYSOQXLfT1

The next few points are from using @BeGriffis app for pass maps and xT (threat) map. https://t.co/E1wmwsbcJw

Every stage of the chain is lossy.
Possession isn’t becoming territory.
Territory isn’t becoming box entries.
Box entries aren’t becoming shots.
That’s one disease with four symptoms, not four problems.

Control and threat are decoupled.
Dons led the Game Control Index in two matches. They won a game against Hearts they never controlled.
Against Rangers they had sustained control periods and produced 0.33 xG. https://t.co/NArnevYjcJ

Paying the energy bill of a pressing side, but collecting regain output of a low block.
That’s a coaching problem, not a fitness one. The press causes cards. It’s very likely why they are ‘tired’ by game five.
Fix the press or drop it, the halfway house burns legs for nothing.

7. Pointless running.
PPDA measures pressing intensity. Under 8 is classed as aggressive. Aberdeen 7.5, 10.2, 9.1 22.8, & 8.0.
Amount of High recoveries in those same games: 4, 6, 1, 1, 4
Against Celtic they abandoned the press. No functioning block to replace it. 24.3% tilt.

6. Getting slower, not faster.
Vertical football simplified = forwards
Vertical tendency held around 25% for three games, then fell to 12.9% and 17.0%.
As results worsened, we’ve went backwards. Literally. https://t.co/WyfiHofQza

5. Out passed where it counts.
922 passes in the opposition half. 1,165 against.
Kilmarnock finishing level at 243 v 235 is one that should worry people. https://t.co/QBIRCOO7kV

4. Possession without territory.
Field tilt=your share of final-third passes.
Territory, not touches. Aberdeen have the ball. They do not have the pitch.
Killie had more of the final third at Pittodrie than the us. Embarrassing.
Tilt below 50 in 4/5 including every home game

3. Nothing lands in the box, and what does gets missed.
Fewest shots on target in the league. Only Falkirk have created fewer big chances.
Then 2 goals from 6.02 xG on top, about four below expectation. https://t.co/7JvwXOG8H3

2. The crossing is actively harmful.
115 crosses, 1.03 xG. 0.009 per cross, roughly a third of a functional crossing side.
Around 1 in 5 are accurate, around 1 in 91 would lead to a goal.
Aberdeen aren’t crossing by design. They’re crossing because there’s no other options.

1. Half our attack is dead balls
2.95 of 6.02xG came within 15s of set piece,49%. Prem side avg runs 25-30%
Strip out set pieces and cross-derived shots and the residual is roughly 2.0xG in 5 games.
0.41 p90.
No pattern for creating a chance. Just routines for winning corners

Aberdeen have taken 4 points/ 5 league games & scored 2 goals, both on the opening day, and 0 from open play
The easy excuse is the fixture list…Its not the fixture list. We just suck
Doesn’t take a genius to see & know our issues, glaringly obvious, but here they are visually

Yes, we might have played the top three from last season in our opening five league outings, but this is nowhere near good enough. https://t.co/w1GqG6Nxoq
