@anissagardizy8 @WSJ Anthropic has rented so many compute resources (from Amazon, xSpace, Google...)but still lacks of compute. It's hard to imagine how much compute OpenAI has. 919 views · 8 likes · 0 reposts · 0 replies Open on X →

@anissagardizy8 @WSJ I can help. Hut 8 is the construction company. Nvidia in this case is to be the GPU supplier. Lambda was to be the tenant, but will now sublet it to Anthropic because their models aren't competitive at the moment. 1.6K views · 13 likes · 0 reposts · 2 replies Open on X →

SCOOP: SoftBank’s little-known data center subsidiary, SB Energy, is going public. SB Energy doesn’t have an operating data center today, or data center revenue, but is selling Wall Street a vision backed by SoftBank, OpenAI, Nvidia—and a $400B contract backlog. SCOOP: SB Energy offered OpenAI a major perk to land it as a data-center tenant ahead of the SoftBank-backed firm's IPO. OpenAI was issued warrants worth an estimated $5.5 billion in SB Energy. - SBE's data center unit, which doesn't yet generate revenue, has a contracted 62.4K views · 135 likes · 20 reposts · 9 replies Open on X →

@anissagardizy8 Oh lmao Microsoft literally did this with OEM's in the 90's except it was with marketing dollars and discounts on copies of Windows to prevent them from shipping other OS's, office suites, and browsers. That did not go over too well for them! https://t.co/J81fUTw 2.2K views · 29 likes · 2 reposts · 2 replies Open on X →
