@TheChrisMosier I'm ftm, currently in hospital with pneumonia and chest infection.
The staff have been wonderful and have treated me just as any other patient, with kindness and respect. and at time curiosity but only to further understand and support those like me ♡

@TheChrisMosier We are talking about the same thing, but men like you put men's fetishes first. You were talking about a woman who pretends to be a man, and those women do not pose the same threats to women, but it's all the same nonsense.

I have woken up in the ER in a similar situation after being knocked out in a bike accident. It's Terrifying. That nurse was an angel & made him feel less afraid in that moment. THANK YOU to that nurse for making him feel safer in that moment so he could get the help he needed.

A trans guy I coach raced a tri yesterday & ended in the med tent hypothermic after passing out near an aid station. He jumped awake as staff stripped him out of his wet clothes. He freaked, tried to stop them & a 😇nurse whispered to him "I see your scars - you're safe." 😭

@TheChrisMosier And yet even in a still shot it's obvious you are a woman. Almost as if you can't pervert nature to your whims.

I LOVE BEING TRANS. Today & every day. Visibility, for me, is an expression of that self-love.

Trans people have existed since the beginning of time & we will continue to exist, regardless of what draconian bills become law or what fx nws says about us.

Visibility is complicated.
Days like today are necessary to show the community is here but as we celebrate the trans folks who want to be visible, what I would really love to see today is cisgender allies move into their visibility.

For those wishing to make that move today, here are a few simple steps you can take to support trans people:
1. Respect & use correct pronouns/names
2. Clearly show that you're an ally
3. Get politically active - call, email & demand change
4. Challenge anti-trans rhetoric

Visibility can inspire others to be their authentic self.
I know if I had seen someone like me when I was younger, it would have changed my whole world. Visibility can provide people with possibility models they so desperately need. And deserve.

Visibility does not keep us safe.
In fact, our visibility can cause us very real harm in many cases.

Visibility often leads to backlash.
As we have more transgender representation in media, sports, the workplace & the world, we also see a greater pushback against that visibility & against our existence. Which is where we are at right now.

Visibility is a privilege.
Not everyone gets to decide if they want to be visible or not. Feeling safe enough to make a choice to be visible is a privilege that many people do not have.

Visibility can be a form of resistance.
In a world that tells trans people we don't belong, we can't be loved & aren't worthy of love, we don't deserve basic human rights... my trans existence is resistance. My visible scars are resistance. My thriving is resistance.

Visibility is a powerful tool for social change.
This has been one of my mottos & core principles since I came out in 2010.
