@gow_derek Do you think there needs to be more focus on the wider issue of livestock losses and carcass management, rather than putting so much attention on eagle predation alone? 🦅🐑 7 views · 0 likes · 0 reposts · 0 replies Open on X →

@gow_derek I don’t think there’s enough fallen stock about nowadays particularly in England. Everywhere is too tidy, fallen stock has to be incinerated if accessible, so less food for the big predators nowadays so they have to prey on smaller more vulnerable species instead. 🤔 73 views · 0 likes · 0 reposts · 0 replies Open on X →

@gow_derek Exactly this. Those carcasses poison the very eagles we demonise. My hikes reveal how biodiversity suffers from this toxic waste. 62 views · 0 likes · 0 reposts · 0 replies Open on X →

On the west coast for last few days. Much whining goes on about eagles and the damage they do to sheep. Little is ever said about the casual losses of stock in volume which litter the land and enable predators to feed - albeit on carcasses which may contain toxins. https://t.co/t 2.2K views · 34 likes · 4 reposts · 3 replies Open on X →
