We are officially in the “let them eat a new lake name” stage. 6K views · 21 likes · 2 reposts · 0 replies Open on X →
One reason the Trump administration is botching the negotiations with Canada is because he is underestimating the gap between the Canadian public’s willingness to pay to stand up to the US and the American public’s willingness to pay for Trump’s unclear trade policy. 3.3K views · 41 likes · 4 reposts · 3 replies Open on X →
The United States is the only advanced economy that doesn’t guarantee workers the right to take time off for work to go to a doctors appointment, meet with a kid’s teacher, or just have a beach day. 2.2K views · 11 likes · 4 reposts · 3 replies Open on X →
@BetseyStevenson It's more like saving us, "anywhere from $430 million to over $2 billion annually" in our economy. We could make a program that would cost $2 billion to educate everyone on a more efficient way of living, and it would pay for itself in, at max, 5 years. 34 views · 0 likes · 0 reposts · 0 replies Open on X →
@BetseyStevenson Shockingly, most people (a) can't decide to just work an earlier shift if they feel like it, and (b) also can't force their local banks and post offices and shit to open earlier. An extra hour of daylight in the morning is useless. 47 views · 1 likes · 0 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →
There seem to be many policymakers convinced that creating year-long daylight saving time will somehow magically give us more hours of daylight. They can achieve that goal in winter using standard time by setting their alarm for 7am, 8am for those living in Michigan. 3.9K views · 30 likes · 0 reposts · 3 replies Open on X →
We are failing all of our children. The selfishness of American adults is stupefying. 0 views · 283 likes · 47 reposts · 28 replies Open on X →
