EXTERNAL CUE
For players that struggle with pushing evenly with their legs I'll often start with an external cue directing them to "push off like you are standing on a see-saw".
Then I watch how their body reacts to the cue and adjust the cue.

Yes, in this controlled environment, each shot has core characteristics.
They look similar.
Steph has stabilized a movement pattern, and that helps him be remarkably consistent at the free line, and that is definitely important.
But it isn't the ONLY skill in shooting.

I used to make the mistake of trying to get players to repeat the exact same shot in controlled practice environments.
But, as decades of research have proven, this isn't the best way to learn a skill.
Repeatability isn't the important skill in shooting.
ADAPTABILITY is.

The differences?
He stood in slightly different places.
He started the ball higher/lower from shot to shot.
He brought the ball further from his body, or closer to it.
He shot it higher or slightly flatter.
