Watched back his cameo this morning & again it confirmed my thoughts.
Watch him off the ball, the positions he takes up, couple of times wasn’t found, but 3/4 occasions he put himself in good positions in which if he got the ball he’d of probably scored or at-least got a shot

Would like United to sign Gjivai Zechiel in January & keep him on loan at Utrecht for the season.
He’s already on loan from Feyenoord, but let him play a full season in Europa League, they play some good level of opposition & they integrate him next summer in pre season. https:

@HCfootball01 Nice thread.
Youth football is all about technical qualities and tactics.
Men’s football is all about physicality before anything else (unless there are genuinely elite technicians who break that generalisation).

Development isn’t linear—if you’re good at 18 doesn’t mean you’ll be world class by a certain age, if you’re struggling at 18 doesn’t mean you’ll be struggling in a few years, development varies and takes time.
Don’t give up on players, so easily.

Ethan Wheatley at Walsall, struggled for game time and when he did play, lived of scraps and it didn’t bring the best out of him, I watched him the other night for England U19s and he was top, he was thriving and he looked one of the better players again.
He needs to find https

Right now Charlie Crew at Doncaster is the interesting one to me, had some very bright moments at Doncaster, but also at times struggled with the physical demands of what is a physically demanding league.
He’s shown enough skills and attributes for me to say he will go on to ht

But this season for how much Ipswich have struggled, he’s been a breath of fresh air, his willingness to run, his creating his own chances out of nothing—giving defender nightmares and despite been raw in areas, a fantastic CF, who for me has world class potential.
He could

A more recent example, and could eventually end up being the long term Harry Kane replacement is, Liam Delap.
He struggled at Stoke and Preston, and if you asked me, I thought he was sloppy, not great and had a lot of areas to improve on.
His loan spell at Hull was far https:

When watching U21 football, it’s a lot about technical side of the game, so you’ll see the best of young wingers, because they’ll have more touches and more opportunities—MFs will receive the ball more and have the license and be encouraged to play through the lines, but when htt

A lot of players who do struggle, struggle mentally after, with fans opinion, not believing they’re good enough and that sends them spiralling down unfortunately, and some players just aren’t good enough for that level at the time, which is also fine.

I’m not here saying every young loan player from PL2 or Youth football struggles, because that would be inaccurate, but there is a lot of GOOD players who struggle to cope with the physical demands, but then later on have gone on to be very good footballers, the first loan at

One of the finest examples I can think off is Harry Kane, I’m sure if you spoke to Leyton Orient, Norwich and Leicester fans and told them at the time he’d go on to achieve what he has individually, you would laugh at and not see it, and rightly so, he wasn’t great at all.
BUT

Players who struggle on the first EFL loans aren’t bad players—it’s just in-fact a league that relies more on developing physically, and players sometimes struggle with that in the first season, not every player will go on to have stellar careers, that’s football—but never write
