Spending more time w/ Texas history these days, which is how I came across Porfirio Salinas. Though he's recognized by some as one of the earliest Mexican American painters from Texas, the artist whose work inspired LBJ remains unknown to too many: https://t.co/kZ59HBFTPO 716 views · 5 likes · 1 reposts · 0 replies Open on X →

There is nothing more overdue & absolutely no one better to lead the Tribune. So proud of @MWatkinsTrib, a thoughtful journalist, natural leader & even greater friend. PS—Trib still owes us matching bean bag chairs. Maybe you can do something about that now that you're the boss. 4.6K views · 35 likes · 2 reposts · 2 replies Open on X →

Crystal Mason became a public example when she was convicted of illegal voting. Six years later, she’s still waiting for relief. My first contribution to @TexasMonthly, grateful for the opportunity: https://t.co/4hyW9d0nyt #txlege 13.1K views · 139 likes · 66 reposts · 4 replies Open on X →

Going to take some space, but I want to say a heartfelt thank you for the overwhelming support & love you’ve shown. I’m sorry I couldn’t respond to all of you — there were so many — but please know that it’s been incredibly moving. I was angry. Then, you filled me w/ gratitude. 14.9K views · 437 likes · 4 reposts · 11 replies Open on X →
