It took a long time. But glad that History Buff finally did justice to one of my favourite all war movie https://t.co/f8qYn2jVXL The movie truly did injustice and Soviet image in world war 2. 663 views · 3 likes · 0 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →
Russia hit another civilian factory in Zhytomyr. Kromberg & Schubert — German-owned, 3,500 jobs — is on fire. Wiring harnesses for European cars, not tanks. This is what endless escalation delivers: our industry burned, the tax base gone, families left without wages. Russia https

I don't care who you are.. if you support bringing back fuel subsidy.. In my book you lack imagination and ideas its as simple as that. Some thing should never be politicised over . 10.7K views · 106 likes · 37 reposts · 7 replies Open on X →

Project conclusion here https://t.co/8dwjAQKjXa The thread also continue above. Mostly post homelab work. 531 views · 5 likes · 1 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →
💀😬 It took 2 years, but this isn't just a homelab anymore. It’s a production-ready Kubernetes data center running in my house. Hybrid nodes, enterprise storage, automated secrets, & fully GitOps-driven See the code that runs it: https://t.co/qYJQpOHTAS #selfhosted #k8s #iac h

I got additional 3 from eBay. I hope to use them in a 4 node distributed persistent volume for Kubernetes using Ceph and Rook. A persistent block volume allows me to host services that require lock filesystem and thus don't play well with NFS (provided by my TrueNAS server) 606 views · 3 likes · 0 reposts · 2 replies Open on X →
Patrick from the STH site did a fantastic review of 1 of such ultra mini pc here. https://t.co/M1ba0qjWW9 You can use them for docker or as a virtualization server for running like Proxmox. You can even use them for running a Plex or Jellyfin for home video streaming 253 views · 2 likes · 0 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →
Just like that. I run out of ports from the 24 port switch. Never thought the home lab would gobble that much network ports. I guess when you terminate 2 network ports to each room and have a host of network devices.. things add up quickly. https://t.co/Nw1INQBEuE https://t.co/U

I enabled DNS over TLS for forwarded queries my home DNS resolver which uses PFsense. The latter requires having a valid certificate (used letsencrypt via acme) I also setup nginx proxy manager for valid ssl cert on self hosted private domains https://t.co/1X5dyYaMuz 316 views · 1 likes · 0 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →
It has been a while since I posted any update. Haven't abandoned the project, just work / life have been intense. Over this weekend, I set out to improve the network security by setting up DNS security and enabling valid SSL over private domain. 180 views · 2 likes · 0 reposts · 2 replies Open on X →
@bigbrovar I read the whole write up. I’m hoping you’re signed up for monetization. If not you should. Great stuff. 272 views · 2 likes · 0 reposts · 0 replies Open on X →
After all the hype, setup PiKVM for the home-lab last month. Today I got to use it for the first time. It allows you remotely connect to any computer (display, mouse and keyboard) over the web browser. I can login to bios, even boot an ISO image. Connected to 3 Servers. https:/

I intend to leverage Ansible and Terrafoam heavily. The idea is, even if everything gets damaged or lost. All can be setup again by just running the initial creation code and back in business in no time since config are standardized. 758 views · 5 likes · 0 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →
The whole software stack is expected to be built using infrastructure as a code concept hence most of the setting up would be written to code then deployed. You can read more about IaC here https://t.co/iyz85GR3lD 521 views · 1 likes · 0 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →
More traditional Stateful application and services would run 2 ASRock Deskmini micro server each running in cluster mode with a combine resources of 14 cores, 28 threads and 64Gb ram. 436 views · 1 likes · 0 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →
For stateless Application and services The home lab would involve setting up a 7 node Multi architecture Kubernetes cluster involving 4 Raspberry Pi4 and 3 Intel Nucs. This AMD64 - ARM64 cluster would be the bedrock for running stateless services in the homelab 386 views · 1 likes · 1 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →
The soft infrastructure stack are composed of 2 major architectural directions. Stateless and Stateful. You can read more about both concepts here. (quite technical) https://t.co/DNikDMSR9J 385 views · 1 likes · 0 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →
My Job as an IT Administrator can be limiting as a result I need an outlet to try other things, experience things my day to day job would not allow me run, have fun and solve problems in the process. The home lab resource is thus meant to be quite stable and reliable. 360 views · 2 likes · 0 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →
Before I talk about networking. I like to speak to the soft infrastructure stack I plan to use for this homelab and why. The main purpose of this lab is learning. To provide a platform to learn new things in a fun way and solve couple of life improvement problems along the way. 396 views · 2 likes · 0 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →

Lastly the Network Attached Storage is a Jonsbo n1 case with 5 x 8Tb storage with a usable storage of 28Tb. Ram is 64Gb ECC memory, Intel Octane SSD for case and AMD Ryzen 5 4650 Pro. It's running TrueNAS Core. 630 views · 2 likes · 0 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →
I also have 4 x older Intel nucs rubbing gen 3 i3 with 4gb ram and 120Gb msata SSD. The Nucs and Raspberry Pi would be configured as a multi architecture ARM64 / x86 cluster. 454 views · 2 likes · 0 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →
1 x ASRock deskmini x300 with 32Gb ram and AMD Ryzen 7 5700 1 x ASRock deskmini H570 with 32gb ram and Intel i5 10Gen. Both micro servers have 1 NVMe for storage and 2 x 2.5 SSD for additional storage. Both would be running Proxmox VM in cluster mode https://t.co/QLidSyHBTw

So a bit of an update. Finally installed the fancy A-RGB Fan to replace the follow come case fan. It brings some shiny to the Network Attached Storage build. It is also completes the physics layer of the home Lab project. All major hardware installed https://t.co/hZUK5IdDia 899 views · 2 likes · 0 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →
window of my home office opens to an adjoining street & thanks to a see through fence, passer by can glimpse into the room if the blinds are up. At night, twinkles from the devices in the network rack can be seen from across the street. I wonder what the neighbors think am up to.
