Nice chart, though I don't quite see why we can't sustain the blockade with a few destroyers and LCSs plus land-based patrol aircraft and helos. It's the Hormuz overwatch effort and "mowing the lawn" over southern Iran that's the real resource drain. 1.3K views · 22 likes · 1 reposts · 3 replies Open on X →
The US can sustain the Iran blockade, but at a high cost. Over 30% of available warships are tied up, with operating costs near $1B a month. The war is sapping military readiness; is the pressure worth the price? My analysis in @business (gift link): https://t.co/Trnj7c13RC ht

The extent to which the US spent the 1930s and first half of the 1940s incubating the USSR as an eventual great power rival is still not widely known and poorly understood. 14.3K views · 253 likes · 13 reposts · 3 replies Open on X →
Four drones and presumably an AShCM. Suggests they *are* trying to saturate and overwhelm US defensive counter-drone/missile CAPs - just not very successfully. Also, what "US-contracted vessel" hmmm? 5.5K views · 28 likes · 6 reposts · 3 replies Open on X →
A U.S.-contracted vessel was hit during an Iranian attack earlier this week, two sources told Fox News on Wednesday. The incident occurred "around the Strait of Hormuz," and involved four Iranian drones, and at least one missile, according to Fox News Chief Foreign Correspondent 9.8K views · 5 likes · 2 reposts · 0 replies Open on X →

@AlexAlmeida2020 I agree. This raises the question of whether there are enough air defenses around the Ras Tanura terminal and refineries. Because if it is Iran masterminding the recent attacks, the one big, low hanging, fruit in the Southern Gulf is Saudi Aramco's infrastructure 481 views · 2 likes · 0 reposts · 0 replies Open on X →
@AlexAlmeida2020 I think their ability to hit moving targets is essentially nil at this point. 1.3K views · 8 likes · 0 reposts · 0 replies Open on X →
@AlexAlmeida2020 There’s no proof at all that they’re doing daytime transits or even that they’re actually moving the amount of oil they claim to be moving at night. And of course it does nothing to affect Irans will to continue the war. 1.8K views · 7 likes · 0 reposts · 5 replies Open on X →
At this point I am more or less convinced the US 100% focus on Hormuz and the southern littoral in Jul-Aug did heavily degrade Iranian anti-shipping capabilities, and what we’re seeing now mostly reflects that, not deliberate withholding by the Iranians. 34.4K views · 426 likes · 29 reposts · 14 replies Open on X →
Britain had incubated the US as its Great Power rival, and eventual successor. The US has done its best to do the same for China. ... going to have to give the UK the win on that one. Self-evidently less retarded. 31.1K views · 129 likes · 11 reposts · 2 replies Open on X →
