Saw this one on /r/programmerhumor, it's so accurate. Inheritance is almost NEVER the best solution. https://t.co/g9D7nZZ7jK

@brendt_gd He is fighting the classic bug of the 'trailing unmatched subpattern': #PHP skips the last subpatterns without match. To apply the final list() = array() without error, he then needs a default value, hence the + [null] #phptip #phptrick https://t.co/qdN9xjlezz 628 views · 5 likes · 1 reposts · 0 replies Open on X →

@brendt_gd It feels like NativePHP is a better solution for people who want this kind of thing for building apps and shippable software. It's compatible with existing code and frameworks (well, Laravel mainly, but I'm holding out for Symfony) and is producing actual working apps 182 views · 2 likes · 0 reposts · 2 replies Open on X →

@brendt_gd Even if TypePHP compiled Laravel or Symfony perfectly, most web bottlenecks are blocking I/O, limiting concurrency and performance gains. Still, TypePHP could benefit web projects by compiling CPU-intensive code into PHP extensions, without requiring a full rewrite. 315 views · 2 likes · 0 reposts · 0 replies Open on X →
