@tanayj Even if you very generously comp the hardware revenue to e.g. Garmin (6.1x) and the software revenue to best-in-class consumer (10x) you don't clear the last round price with these numbers. If I had to guess, I would estimate it trades around ~$9bn at lockup expiration. 267 views · 4 likes · 0 reposts · 0 replies Open on X →

@tanayj One bit I don’t like in there is the 80% being hardware sales. Due to that I doubt they’ll ever make these more sustainable. I’m on my 4th ring now in nearly 8 years and frankly I wouldn’t have bought as many if the battery wouldn’t keep dying within 1.5-3 years. 1.8K views · 7 likes · 0 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →
@tanayj How much of this is boosted from Amex partnership that'll probably churn? 1.1K views · 9 likes · 0 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →

Two easter eggs in the $12,930,300,000 price NVIDIA is paying for Hugging Face: - 129303 is the Unicode code point for the 🤗 emoji (U+1F917) - #129303 as a hex color is (very close to) the Nvidia green 4.4K views · 32 likes · 4 reposts · 3 replies Open on X →

Benioff making the point that even AI companies aren't trying to vibecode Salesforce away: “9 out of 10 of the top 10 AI companies in the world use Salesforce and Slack… they’ve increased their spend with us by 435% year over year.” 15.2K views · 170 likes · 10 reposts · 10 replies Open on X →

@tanayj It could just be early but honestly nobody knows. The newspaper analogy is often brought up and might be a good analogue to software. The Mosaic browser shipped in 1993, Craigslist launched in 1995, and yet US newspaper ad revenue continued to grow and peaked in 2005 at $ 2.2K views · 34 likes · 4 reposts · 6 replies Open on X →
@tanayj i think the 2 biggest reasons for why is: 1. we CAN build this internally ≠ we SHOULD build this internally 2. replicating only 95% of the thing internally turns out to make it 100% unusable in practice. and the 5% of optimizations (and maintenance) you never really do 654 views · 5 likes · 0 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →
Benioff opened Salesforce's earnings call by saying "this nonsense of this SaaSpocalypse, I think it's time for it to stop." None of the doomer predictions have been true for Salesforce: - Seats would decline → sales, service and Slack seats all grew - Customers would leave → 23.8K views · 186 likes · 15 reposts · 17 replies Open on X →
