It's very interesting how One Piece has such a reputation for characters not dying, because it's really not true at all. The deaths of major characters may be few and far between, but there's still 20 of those, and they're more impactful for it. I have an extremely difficult time seeing Oda kill off Luffy of all characters at the end of One Piece. He’s literally infamous for having difficulty killing even minor ones off.
