@Law4Palestine This is a brilliant document tracing the current genocide by the Zionist state to Zionisms original racist origins and then linking it with the current genocide perpetrated by the inheritors of the Zionist tradition. https://t.co/fwt3u84hcp

L4P argues that while intent is different in apartheid and genocide, the practices overlap. Israel destroying infrastructure and preventing Palestinian Gazans from leaving and returning to their country is one of the acts constituting the crime of apartheid.

The Israeli military’s actions of cultural and environmental destruction show clear intent of causing permanent harm to civilian infrastructure that would make life impossible in Gaza (art. 6c of Rome Statute), further evidence of genocidal intent.

Israel’s use of decivilianisation has been highlighted by the @FranceskAlbs in her recent report when discussing ‘humanitarian camouflage’. Quoting her report: Israel is ‘ultimately eroding the distinction between civilians and combatants in Israeli actions in Gaza’.

The scale of Israeli attacks on medical units in Gaza attempts to de-civilianise protected Palestinians and is constitutive of the intent to commit genocide. Attacks on aid convoys transporting Palestinian casualties are instructive of intent to kill and harm.

Israel justifies mass attacks on medical facilities with the same ‘human shields’ argument, while failing to provide evidence that the facilities were used as cover by Palestinian armed groups. They have falsified evidence; allegations that were dismissed by the UN.

Israeli designated 'Safe zones' are an instrument for the organisation of lethal violence used by Israel against the civilian population: those who could not reach 'safe zones' are framed as ‘human shields’. The goal is to enable ethnic cleansing.

Israel has repeatedly argued that all Palestinians are ‘human shields’ due to their proximity to Hamas, depriving them of civilian protection to justify use of lethal force against them. This argument violates two cardinal principles of IHL: distinction and proportionality.

L4P proves this by identifying numerous genocidal statements originating from Israeli officials, calling for the erasure, dehumanisation and destruction of the Palestinian people; a clear political and military intent to commit genocide, acknowledged by UN experts.

Palestinians throughout Historic Palestine & around the world (oPt, Palestinian citizens of Israel & the wider Palestinian diaspora) are a protected ethnic and national group under the Rome Statute. Palestinians in Gaza are being targeted with the intent to destroy the group.

Since the 20th century, Zionist ideology has imposed a racist, apartheid regime on the Palestinian people. Modern Israeli leaders adhering to Zionism have made their intent to ethnically cleanse Palestine and justify the colonisation of Palestine very clear.
