A strongly recommended read for all the politicians about to be appointed to the Joint Committee which will be scrutinising this controversial &

8/ Criminal statutes should not be used as culture war weapons and the cause of gay rights should not be exploited in this way or denigrated in the public eye by associating it with a poorly defined, brutal and non human rights compliant activist statute. https://t.co/NUIyVhwRbU

4/ Using a real history of gay pain to prosecute parents is a misuse of the criminal law and a misuse of our history. This bill exploits gay rights to smuggle in contested identity concepts into criminal law.

5/ This bill creates a very broad criminal offence that could be triggered by a difficult conversation with a teenager. The Bill fails to define the key term the offence depends on, leaving the word "abusive" up to courts. That is poor legislative drafting. https://t.co/tqJEul03v

6/ The bill disregards fundamental human rights. Courts are made to repeat activist language and concepts. The offence is unclear. Respect for private and Family life is trampled on. Expression is curtailed and belief is regulated. It is incompatible with the european declaration

7/ The Bill hands activists a powerful tool. Making criminal allegations is low cost and easy. Employment, family, public, equality act and general civil disputes will now take place under the shadow of criminal liability and vexatious investigations. https://t.co/kd4Q9Zgg3a

3/ The former minister introducing this bill cited reports such as that below as evidence of "conversion practices". It is clear to us this is the real aim of the bill - to use the criminal law to regulate how parents deal with issues around gender. Not gay rights. https://t.co/j

1/ Our longform response to the draft conversion practice bill is now available on our website at https://t.co/T9QtgZsdXK.
This bill is broad, unnecessary and offers poorer protection to gay people than existing laws. It is a bill about gender ideology, not gay rights. https://

1/ Our long form analysis of the Draft Conversion Practices bill is now available at https://t.co/T9QtgZsdXK.
This is a poor and draconian piece of legislation that exploits the real and painful history of gay conversion to further the objectives of gender ideology. https://t.c

2/ The new conversion offence has a maximum of 5 years imprisonment, yet it claims to cover serious torture like violence such as electroshock "treatment" which under existing law would be treated as GBH with a maximum of life. https://t.co/12aUqZYMAL

GMN will be publishing our long form response to the Draft Conversion Practices Bill on 6th September.
It is a 26K word legal deep-dive into the Bill and the dangers of exploiting real gay pain to fundamentally redraw the lines between the state and families/individuals.

1/ In a piece in The Times, GMN director Jonathan Hayward has called upon the Charity Commission to act to stop ideological charities assembling public lists of political enemies and slandering them as "anti rights".

8/ We urge the Charity Commission to urgently consider action in this matter. It cannot be right for charities to compile lists of political opponents and public libel them in this way. The gender corruption of the 3rd sector is a huge issue. It is time to act.

6/ We affirm out commitment to fighting the dangerous and draconian Conversion Practices Bill Amnesty supports and we repeat our criticism that it exploits real gay pain in order to terrify parents of children experiencing distress around gender.

7/ We are currently in the process of updating our website. When it is complete the letter will also be posted publicly there, just as Amnesty's libels of us and other LGB organisations were made public.

5/ For the avoidance of any doubt, we will not allow libels from Amnesty to scare or intimidate us. We are gay men who have faced prejudice and discrimination all of our lives and a captured charity engaging in libel is anaemic by comparison to what most gay men have experienced

4/ The Charity sector preaches diversity yet is singularly intolerant of Gay Men and Lesbians who correctly analyse gender ideology as deeply homophobic from the denial of same sex attraction to the scandal of high numbers of same-sex attracted youth at gender clinics. https://t.

3/ Making lists of political enemies is the sort of activity Amnesty used to actively and admirably campaign against, now it does precisely that. Further, the "report" in question counsels unlawful belief discrimination by regulators and funding bodies. https://t.co/AUgA617owy

1/ Amnesty International chose to libel the Gay Men's Network as an "anti-rights" group along with several LBG organisations. We object to NGOs who espouse gender ideology misusing their formidable funding and influence in this fashion and we are seeking a formal apology. https:/

2/ Amnesty has absolutely no right to dictate what political opinions gay men may or may not hold on gender ideology. It has no right to "evidence launder" a list of dissent lesbian and gay groups as targets for opprobrium or public condemnation. https://t.co/FD3HyqVg1q
