I've been frustrated by talk of "balance" in journalism. "Balance" implies equivalence between positions, which means that to be unbiased a journalist must give equal weight to rival sides. Times Journalists Subpoenaed as Trump Escalates Pressure on Media https://t.co/GSRUCPFNgW via @NYTimes An outrageous attack on press freedom. But the NYT has US 1st Amendment rights. The imprisonment of journalists in Bangladesh threatens press freedom & the public's right to know. A free press helps support a healthy democracy, & you you can’t have the latter without the former. The AJF stands with the CJA in calling for these journalists' immediate release. 805 views · 10 likes · 6 reposts · 0 replies Open on X →

That's why we are building Journalism Australia, a professional association designed to address these issues. 768 views · 8 likes · 3 reposts · 0 replies Open on X →
