Underrated life advice: Become difficult to rush. The world will pressure you to rush into everything. Rushed decisions. Rushed relationships. Rushed conversations. Rushed timelines. There's power in rejecting that trend. Pause. Slow down. Create space to think clearly.

There are very few things in life as enjoyable as seeing your friends win. Especially when you’ve had a front row seat to the work that went on to get there. Real ones are with you for the dirt of the journey and the champagne at the finish.

I think the most interesting shift sparked by AI is who it rewards.
For the longest time, it seemed like the world rewarded those who followed a clear, logical path.
People who:
1. Anticipated valuable skills
2. Acquired those valuable skills
3. Leveraged those valuable skills

The older I get, the more I realize that showing up is the key to life.
It sounds so simple, but it's surprisingly rare. Because it's easy to do when you're getting patted on the back for it. It's easy when the rewards feel certain. It's easy when the progress is clear.
But

The older I get, the more I realize that life has seasons. And not every season needs to be your best one. Some seasons are for building. Some are for healing. Some are for just surviving. You don’t have to win every single chapter for the whole story to turn out well.

@SahilBloom A pause works better when it has an end point. “I’ll decide tomorrow morning” gives the emotion time to settle without letting the decision drag on for a week.

Powerful rule for life: Never make a permanent decision based on a temporary feeling. Bad days pass. Anger fades. Fear settles. Just learn to pause. Take a walk. Sleep on it. Give it a minute. You can always act tomorrow. You can't always undo a rushed decision made today.

Underrated life advice: Never make someone regret being honest with you. If someone has the courage to tell you the truth, don’t punish them for it. You can disagree. But if you train people to believe that honesty gets punished, they’ll start giving you comfort instead of truth.

I took that marathon failure personally…
So this morning, I drove back to the course and started running in the dark by myself.
And I got it done:
- Final Time: 2:48:47
- Average Pace: 6:26
No, it doesn’t “count” but when I say I’m going to do something, I do it. Full stop. h

Every single thing you want in life is on the other side of something that sucks. That suck might be 100 workouts, 100 bland meals, 100 hours of work, or 100 hard conversations. Embrace it. Pay the cost of entry with pride. The answers you seek are found in the actions you avoid.

The secret to looking 10 years younger:
Moisturize your face every night.
It’s crazy that people will work out, eat clean, optimize sleep, and then ignore skin health. Largest organ in your body but also the most commonly neglected.
That's why I created the Wild Roman Face htt

The only parenting advice I find useful: You can't teach your kids anything. You just have to embody the things you want them to learn. Make a list of the traits and values you want your kids to have. Then make sure you're living by them every single day. That's really it.

The older I get, the more I love feeling like a work in progress. Resist the urge to look polished for the world. You don’t need to pretend you have it all figured out. Nobody does. Embrace your unfinished form. Just commit to getting a better each day and trust where it leads.

Underrated life advice: Learn to work without validation. Build when nobody’s watching. Write when nobody’s reading. Train when nobody’s cheering. It doesn’t take talent. Just courage. Those with the courage to work in the dark will eventually shine in the light.

I’m convinced adaptability is the highest form of intelligence. Knowledge matters, but the ability to unlearn and change course is rare. The most impressive people I know change their minds often in response to new information. The goal isn't to be right. It's to find the truth.

Underrated life advice: Just stay in the game. The best things in life are a result of compounding. But you can’t compound if you let yourself get taken out of the game. Whatever storm life throws your way, just roll with it. Adapt. Survive and advance. Always stay in the game.

DNF at my first fall marathon today.

- 6:24 average pace

Fell way behind on fluids in the 70 degree temperature and 90% humidity. It slammed me at ht

I’m convinced that reliability is the most underrated trait in life. You’ll achieve much more by being consistently reliable than by being occasionally extraordinary. Show up. Do the work. Repeat. The recipe for success in every single area of life.

WARNING: Emotional post (but worth reading or bookmarking for later).
Time is cruel. But that cruelty carries the seeds of beauty.
Last weekend, my family and I made our annual pilgrimage to a small community in northwest Connecticut.
We started going when I was 18 months old.

Underrated life advice: Being resourceful is more important than having resources. Money helps. Connections help. But there's nothing more valuable than the person who can just make things happen with what they already have in front of them. That person will find a way to win.

The strangest thing about having a kid is that you suddenly have a physical extension of yourself out there in the world. When they feel joy, you feel joy. When they feel pain, you feel pain. But unlike with yourself, you aren’t really in control of what they experience. And if

@SahilBloom My wife asks me about my confidence. I tell her that I realized at 16 that no one truly cares about you outside of maybe family and that once you realize this it changes how you operate. Plus, my best friend is God. Who can be against me?

The older I get, the more I realize that real confidence is less about knowing you’ll win and more about knowing you’ll bounce back even if you don’t. Real confidence is resilience. Adaptability. Tolerance for uncertainty. Fear loses when you know failure is never final.
