To ask for change and still say that schools should provide a 'picky eater' option (i.e. 'beige food') is to simply ignore the pressures that enforce the current state of affairs. If you provide a 'picky eater' option, most children will choose it. >> 5.9K views · 6 likes · 0 reposts · 3 replies Open on X →

I don’t believe all children should be dragged down to the diet of the pickiest eater. By all means have a “picky eater” option every day. But don’t inflict that on everyone. 5K views · 10 likes · 0 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →

@Suchmo83 the KS2 question is the giveaway. phonics reliably solves decoding, and decoding is not what is being measured at eleven. by then it is knowledge and vocabulary doing the work, and no method delivers those quickly. 88 views · 0 likes · 0 reposts · 0 replies Open on X →

@Suchmo83 @ClareSealy Thank you. What advice do you have for SEN chn in Y4 and above who have been receiving phonics everyday since Reception (and Nursery) but are still on phase four or early phase five and can’t seem to move on? Thank you 211 views · 1 likes · 0 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →

@Suchmo83 Time has to be considered. A school year is not going to ever get a 2-3 year behind student caught up. Phonics is a multi year improvement plan. 235 views · 0 likes · 0 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →

I have two copies of Primary Reading Simplified to **give away**. Simply retweet this tweet and/or reply with the name of a children's book that you think more teachers should know about. One winner will be chosen from the replies and one winner from the retweets on 30/08/26.
