Mathematician Terence Tao:
"we have to slow down AI. the pace is insane, and there's no reason to be this fast — no reason at all"
It's amazing how willing we are to change everything without any idea what happens afterward

@haider1 Calm down… the ARC AGI 3 benchmark results of Sol are understated (or Astra ones are overstated) - they used a different harness https://t.co/ddZrh1Y3vW

@haider1 Unconfirmed benches don’t mean much yet.
I’ll wait until people actually use it. If those numbers hold in real work, that’s a different story.

Astra should be dropping today
and that would explain why every lab is rushing releases out now
not trying to overhype it, but I'd be surprised if Astra doesn't overshadow most of this quickly, which is why the staggered releases show these labs know what competitors are

after "Astra" we wait for openai's big pre-trained model, "Bel"
astra still in the Agent-1 stage, but the continuous learning shown for Agent-2 will be the thing that changes the game in the next big models
if OAI has systems like that internally by dec, then we'll be way ahead

actually, you won't either...
yesterday: fable 5.1 / mythos 5.1, qwen3.8-max-0902(updated), and the multimodal world model "Atlas"
today: gemini 3.8 flash holds SOTA for like 2 hours, then Meta drops Muse Spark 1:3

how tf Meta is moving this insanely fast needs to be studied
they went from looking weirdly behind in the AI race to suddenly shipping at a pace that feels completely different https://t.co/P6lhp3bme1

Astra will not be the best model this year as I reported on back in July. There is a ‘monster’ slated for end of year. - this ofc can be pushed to early next year due to security testing.

had a great surprise conversation with Sam Altman (@sama) the other day in front of hundreds of Silicon Valley interns
We talked about:
- turning down Goldman Sachs and dropping out of Stanford
- how he got Peter Thiel and Paul Graham to take 19-year-old Sam seriously
- advice

@haider1 They only allow you to use 1M tokens so they can charge for 1M, but all LLMs become retarded after 200k as you said.
