There's a quiet irony watching Senators slowly walk to a podium to place an in person vote while some secretary calls out their name to verify the vote... while that vote decides the fate of a new technology (blockchain) dedicated to improving record keeping and asset transfer

That’s because lockups are dumb and pointless, and always have been. Obscuring reality, and then obscuring it out further, doesn’t help anyone.

Can’t think of a single instance when extending the lockup schedule worked well for a crypto team
We need more investor activism in this space

@jdorman81 Don't get caught up in the numbers and focus on the political realities. The chance of a hike is as likely as Scump's cabinet resigning en masse.
0% chance of a hike pre election. He even has JD Nonce calling for a rate reduction.

Every FOMC decision is a 50/50 toss up now that the Fed doesn't explicitly tell you what they're going to do, but 60% odds of a hike seem wrong. Treating Warsh’s lack of guidance as inherently hawkish is a mistake. There is a higher variance around outcomes now, but that

16) I've been pitching crypto as an investable asset class for ~10 years. The below explanation has the best success rate in terms of helping new investors understand this asset class. If you want more money invested in this industry, please educate them

15) Adding on to (3) above, a broader methodology needs to be adopted that uses "adjusted market cap" -- a metric that falls in between Float (circulating supply) and FDV (max supply)

We need to fix the broken, archaic & inconsistent market cap formulas in order for crypto to thrive!
Arca proposes "Adjusted Market Cap", which we feel more accurately reflects a token's true valuation.
We hope this becomes the new standard.

14) Complete failure by the industry leaders turning crypto into a macro trading vehicle. $600 tn worth of investors buy CF assets, yet the big exchanges targeted the $10 tn who care about currencies & gold
DeFi, DePIN, etc should have been the focus

This recent notion that token buybacks are a bad use of capital is misguided.
Token buybacks are by far the best use of capital for protocols, full stop. Recent discussion against buybacks completely misses the biggest difference between tokens & equities, as I'll explain

The majority of investors buy corporate stocks, bonds, & R.E.
A TINY few buy commodities & currencies.
So why is crypto focused on catering to the tiny sliver of CTAs, macro funds & fast money traders?
It’s illogical
More education needed on revenue companies with tokens htt

12) crypto is a wrapper that houses all asset classes (equity like tokens, debt like tokens, currency like, etc).
Saying we invest or don’t invest in “crypto” is akin to saying “we’re ETF investors” - Which makes no sense. What’s inside the ETF matters, not the ETF itself

11) We are on the cusp of leaving the "dot-crypto" phase of blockchain
We are about to enter the new phase where regular, 100-year old companies use blockchain
No one is a "dot-com" anymore, because every company is. Same thing will be true for crypto.

10) Crypto as an investment, & blockchain as a use case, is in a binary state
The "Crypto investing paradox"
The tech works, but w/ the wrong assets. We need assets that people care about (stocks/bonds/RE) on blockchain rails.

7a) $MSTR is NOT a systemic risk for BTC. There is almost no scenario where they become a forced seller, unless BTC has already fallen so far that MSTR selling is your least concern.

7b) As an aside, I think a premium to NAV makes sense for MSTR equity.
In theory, they can become the Berkshire Hathaway of crypto & use BTC to acquire companies for discounts (if BTC becomes truly scarce and valuable).

5) Fat protocol thesis has done major damage to crypto. It’s nonsense, it causes every app to try to become an L1, it drives all VC dollars to L1s, & it makes dead L1s worth $1 bn+
A few L1s will win, but none will be worth more than the sum of the apps.

6a) Deprecate the term "Alt coins". There are >10 sectors, & hundreds of different token types (asset-backed, quasi-equity, amortizing buyback tokens, debt-like).
Why hurt our own industry by pandering to the uninformed?

6b) Tokens make crypto more akin to fixed income than equities or commodities.
Bonds have different coupons, maturities, call/convert structures, covenants, security, warrants, & trade via fragmented dealers with low liquidity just like crypto (every token is unique).

3) FDV & market cap are used incorrectly
mkt cap = Total amount issued (including locked tokens to VCs, & employees)
Float = the amount actually trading (excl locked tokens)
FDV = The total amount that COULD be issued (unissued, sitting in Treasury).
Fix it @coingecko et al
