@judah47 I feel like the story doesn’t end here. Yes, the PV will stretch, but it seems to me that the strong -QBO will keep the PV vulnerable to another, potentially much more impactful SSW down the line. I have seen enough & I am ready to make the early call - the upcoming #PolarVortex (PV) disruption should be categorized as a stretched PV/wave reflection event. Whether it crosses the line over into a sudden stratospheric warming event is almost irrelevant. Premature? We'll see.
