For $2,689/mo, you can rent close to the equivalent of a $500,000 house in many Dallas suburbs
Throw away $2700/mo making interest payments to a bank or making rent payments to a landlord
Either way, someone wealthier than you is winning from your housing situation

@texasrunnerDFW To clarify, these numbers are accurate. The fact that people are paying this is a joke.

This is today’s monthly payment on a $500,000 house in the Dallas region with a 10% down payment a 7.17% mortgage rate
$357 out of $4300/mo going to principal
You’re better off renting anything and putting $400/mo in the stock market https://t.co/JsjZ5eUBYp

Never pay much attention when other people talk about their personal finances
Someone with a net worth of 2m can say,
“Money is tight this month”
Someone with a net worth of -$20,000 can also say that
And both are being genuinely sincere in what they’re saying

Among the 10 largest counties in Texas, migration accounted for the majority of the population increase, as opposed to native births
Blue = new births
Yellow = gain or loss in new residents via migration https://t.co/UrPRpE1jTc

@texasrunnerDFW You missed the biggest reason it’s weird, massive legal and illegal immigration.
It’s trending toward not a country but an economic zone to be extracted

And I can’t really name “the one thing” that changed it all, because I don’t think it was just one thing
It’s an amalgamation of decay, division, technology, material wealth and spiritual poverty
Visit another country and feel how the vibe is different. You’ll just know

The USA is weird now.
If you’re a person under 30, you probably think it’s normal but that’s because you don’t know
Trust me. It’s weird.
