@Coach_KGraber Much better anticipation and reading down angle off the bat…better contact zone awareness on the 2nd one. 443 views · 1 likes · 0 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →

A tale of two contact plays: 🔴 George Springer poor secondary — flat-footed, has to restart, thrown out at home. 🟢 Ukyo Shuto perfect secondary — momentum through contact into clean break on ground ball — safe at home. Similar play. Dissimilar secondaries. https://t.co/1TQHZ25

@Coach_KGraber It's not 2 bases. It's 1 from the mound (pitched ball), 2 (thrown) from the field, 3 (batted) from the bat. 383 views · 5 likes · 0 reposts · 2 replies Open on X →

@Coach_KGraber IIRC this should be only one base under 5.06(b)(3)(e) because it's a pitched ball. Detached equipment base awards are 1 base for a pitched ball [5.06(b)(3)(e)], 2 for a thrown ball [5.06(b)(4)(d)],and 3 for a batted ball [5.06(b)(4)(b)]. 468 views · 4 likes · 0 reposts · 0 replies Open on X →

Did you know? Deliberately touch a thrown ball with a detached cap, mask, or any part of the uniform, and the penalty is two bases — for every runner and the batter-runner. MLB Rule 5.06(b)(4)(D), once known as 7.05(d). Caught on video👇 https://t.co/6N8tT9omjh 74.3K views · 97 likes · 6 reposts · 16 replies Open on X →

@Coach_KGraber @les7spellman Yes deceleration and the power stop. Things that are overlooked but critical to performance and player safety. Shuttle run, long lines, linear change of direction drills from other sports used to indirectly educate athletes on how to do this natural 111 views · 1 likes · 0 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →

@Coach_KGraber @les7spellman Is it really undervalued though? What large problem are you trying to solve for? 267 views · 2 likes · 0 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →

@Coach_KGraber @les7spellman My favorite drill we do, kids love it, is single to CF drill. It helps our 3B work on holds/sends and helps CF/OF/1B cut work on hitting cut & catchers having to communicate. It’s a great tool for a 3B coach too so they can get good depth to see play 763 views · 5 likes · 0 reposts · 2 replies Open on X →

We coach players to run fast. We should also coach them to stop. Rounding a bag and jamming the brakes is deceleration, undertrained and undervalued in baseball. Decel training reps courtesy of the great @les7spellman. https://t.co/H61ZxRDMpE
