@DHSOIG Even though Alligator Alcatraz is now closed, the OIG report is still a scandal. It confirms many of the abusive conditions at the facility, which Florida outright denied. Making matters worse, the OIG says another Florida facility is not getting ANY inspections from IC

@DHSOIG Finally, @DHSOIG found that Florida violated standards requiring people be given minimum 6 hours recreation per week, on at least 4 days. Instead, Florida only permitted people 1 hour, 3 days a week. As OIG points out, this made the tiny cells with no common areas even w

@DHSOIG Fifth, @DHSOIG found that Alligator Alcatraz violated basic hygiene standards. People were only permitted to shower on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday — and never any other time. The showers themselves were infested with small bugs. In addition, toothpaste was hard to obt

@DHSOIG Fourth, @DHSOIG found that detainees were not provided clean water and safe food. One freezer used to store food was broken, and detainees were not given clean water. Each cell had a single 5-gallon water jug, and people got a single cup, never cleaned, for their entire

@DHSOIG Third, @DHSOIG found that Alligator Alcatraz failed to have any standardized policy with regards to medical management of people suffering drug or alcohol withdrawal, raising the risk of serious medical harm. https://t.co/WPfan5gbww

@DHSOIG Notably, @DHSOIG obtained data from Florida suggesting that people were never held in the cells for more than two hours. DHS notes that there were multiple allegations of significantly longer stays, but was unable to confirm them. The data was entirely in Florida's hands

@DHSOIG DHS's OIG also confirms people were punished in tiny outdoor cages. We knew they existed but had never seen pictures. The OIG calls these outdoor metal cages "unprecedented" and "highly unconventional," and says they were a "significant risk[] to detainee health and well

@DHSOIG Next, the OIG says that people held in segregation were locked in tiny individual metal cages inside a building, held with no TV, no reading materials, no law library, no recreation, and no access to phones to call their lawyers. All of this wildly violated ICE standards

@DHSOIG The OIG finds that each person detained at Alligator Alcatraz was in cells offering just 28 square feet per detainee, less than half than the 75 required. People could only leave their cells a few times per day, and were only allowed showers 3 times per week. https://t.

The @DHSOIG finds that Florida's Alligator Alcatraz failed to meet SIX different categories of detention standards: - Medical Care - Food Service - Personal Hygiene - Recreation - Environmental Health and Safety - Special Management Units https://t.co/lNQDLgwhfI

NEW: @DHSOIG releases a scathing report about the Everglades detention camp known as "Alligator Alcatraz." The OIG finds that the now-closed camp, violated multiple ICE standards. The OIG also confirms detainees were punished with placement in a metal cage in the Florida heat.🧵

You know what's crazy? That @DHSGov did not even bother trying to use the basic *extradition* process to detain and deport this man, but instead tried to carry out the entire extradition under immigration law, which was apparently inadequate to the purpose. 243 views · 1 likes · 0 reposts · 0 replies Open on X →
“One thing is not debatable is that MURDERERS should be detained pending removal proceedings…this is part of an epidemic of judicial activism.” @DHSGenCounsel on a sanctuary judge’s insane decision to release an MS-13 MURDERER! https://t.co/MTdo7ZR7Fm

This is one result of a news environment in which people are allowed to throw around fake numbers and get no pushback. Example: Trump’s “20 million migrants under Biden” number, which he riffed from thin air at a campaign rally and is now the gospel truth for his supporters. 36.4K views · 239 likes · 72 reposts · 30 replies Open on X →

Absolutely laughable to suggest that our immigration laws are as simple as “introduce yourself and ask to enter.” https://t.co/Oi3aotOaZE

Once again we see J6er lawyer @shipwreckedcrew demonstrate an inability to read. What I said, and what I stand by, is that migrants during the Biden years were *more likely* to be white collar, as compared to migrants in the past. At no point did I say it was a majority. 34.3K views · 164 likes · 31 reposts · 59 replies Open on X →
For everyone -- let's spot the doctors, lawyers, and engineers in this photo. Aaron says there are more white collar workers in this picture that economic migrants. Treat it like an illegal immigration version of "Where's Waldo." https://t.co/mX7ofhz8Rv

@ReichlinMelnick A 19 year old fighting age male who hates America cannot, by definition, ever be a "refugee". That thing is an invader and ICE was doing it a favor by deporting it because there are more efficient ways of dealing with invaders. 237 views · 16 likes · 0 reposts · 4 replies Open on X →
@ReichlinMelnick More judges need to find their testicles and start holding the government in contempt. Start throwing ADAs in holding cells. 470 views · 20 likes · 0 reposts · 0 replies Open on X →
WOW. After illegally deporting a teenager in March in violation of a longstanding class action, ICE brought him back in August and kept him detained while he sought asylum. On Tuesday, they illegally deported him AGAIN. This is an agency that cannot be trusted to follow the law. 48K views · 1.5K likes · 488 reposts · 33 replies Open on X →
My goal is to educate; to help people understand what we are talking about. Most Americans (contrary to the bubble on this app) don’t think ICE should be focusing on people without papers who’ve been working hard, raising families, and not getting into trouble with the cops. 3.1K views · 34 likes · 5 reposts · 5 replies Open on X →

@ReichlinMelnick Crossing the border illegally is a crime. Therefore they are all criminals, stop pushing this bullshit propaganda. Deport them all. 250 views · 26 likes · 2 reposts · 6 replies Open on X →
ICE repeatedly claims 70% of people it arrests have a prior criminal record. This is false; it hasn't been true since May 2025. During the Minneapolis raids, that number fell to 53%. Now it's fallen below 50%. The MAJORITY of ICE arrests are now people with no criminal record. h

NEW: ICE data released under the Freedom of Information Act reveals that more than half of all ICE arrests are now people with no criminal record; no prior convictions or pending charges. In the first week of August, 55% of all ICE arrests were of people with no criminal record.
