@janeyellene Huge public support for our @LondonGasketeer campaign a couple of years ago saved the remaining working gas lamps in Westminster (and we still have Lamplighters, too!) What a sad sight, probably around the 1930s, piles of old street lamps that had once lit Britain's streets, now ripped out and ready for scrap as newer lighting took over. Nobody thought much of them then, but just look at those beautiful old lanterns. We'd probably be trying to
