The stretch around San Quintin and Quatras Casas was always way colder than further north in southern CA, in the summer. There’s some local upwelling and the California current picks back up in this area as a near-sho

My opinion:
- It'll reach us, and SSTs in the entire SoCal Bight will be at all-time record-high levels in October, a freak climatic anomaly.

I'd like to have an open discussion about this northward propagating Kelvin wave in Baja CA.
It is carrying sea surface temperatures of 85°F and slow to cool down. It is less than 350 miles from our beaches.
