Thanks to the Fedimint team for their transparency and quick response. It’s a reminder that beyond accelerating AI threat detection, we need multi-provider multisig to prevent single points of failure. 2.1K views · 16 likes · 1 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →

We found a bug in our legacy Lightning integration and are contacting public gateway operators. User funds, federations, and ecash are not affected. Gateways using LDK Node or our newer LNv2 protocol are also not affected. We still recommend staying up to date. 🧵 6.5K views · 57 likes · 27 reposts · 2 replies Open on X →

@obi @TheBlueMatt Disinterested/nothing-at-stake functionaries was a major risk in this kind of federation. Any one of them could have audited this issue. None did. They just pushed through whatever Blockstream gave them. Disinterested Sideswap could have followed guidelines on 576 views · 10 likes · 2 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →

@obi @TheBlueMatt Well said Obi. This is the way. Even future BitVMX implementations are trust-minimised, not truly trustless. Its all about defence in depth. 217 views · 1 likes · 0 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →

A topic this critical deserves my first long-form post. The real question is not trusted vs trustless. It's how many independent things have to go wrong before you lose money. @TheBlueMatt said it in one sentence. Run the same software, suffer the same bugs. ⬇️ Think about 20.1K views · 81 likes · 28 reposts · 12 replies Open on X →

Congrats to the team for this huge milestone. Years of feedback and research to make this major upgrade to the protocol. Super excited to see the result and incorporate it into the Fedi app for a faster, smoother, and even more scalable offering. 👀✅🚀 1.6K views · 9 likes · 3 reposts · 0 replies Open on X →

I really hope this phase of Bitcoin community retrospection continues indefinitely. We're questioning our priors again. 2.6K views · 43 likes · 6 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →

#Bitcoin has made me more: - careful with my time - patient - stoic - minimalist - healthy - honest - analytical - grateful - anti-consumerist - thoughtful - holistic - detail-oriented - globally-minded - long-termist Bitcoin evolves our minds as much as our money. 0 views · 2.7K likes · 473 reposts · 104 replies Open on X →
