Thu 17/9: Strong westerly winds, gales widely on Scottish mountains; cool air, significant chill factor. Showery rain, heavy bursts mixed in most frequent W Scotland, extending east. Showers develop more often for N England too. Fewer showers for Wales after early rain clears. ht

Wed 16/9: NW'ly wind pushes chilly air and showers into Scotland, milder but showery in Wales and W England. Wind lessens, showers scattering, a few light showery clusters here and there (total rainfall small). Rain and wind into west Scotland later, spreading widely overnight. h

Tue 15/9: Showers over Scotland from dawn, a few dry bright breaks forming, mostly S, but pulses of showers return. A band of rain over England and Wales at dawn soon passes E for a bright window, followed by intermittent rain, drier windows later afternoon. Cool-to-mild, breezy.

Mon 14/9: Humid SW'ly air - extensive low cloud & drizzle many mountains. Locally drier with some cloud breaks toward NE of major mountain groups. Around Skye generally wet all day, whilst more prolonged heavier rain moves into SW Scotland afternoon-evening. Strong, gusty winds.

Sun 13/9: A fine day for most places with light winds. Varied cloud some hill slopes early in day tending to lift & break, sunny spells. Risk of more cloud lingering over hills in Wales, some rain/drizzle in the south as a front stays nearby. SW'ly breezes increase later W Scot.
