A great achievement. Not only Italy's first woman Prime Minister, but a fiscal conservative who loves Roger Scruton. Many congratulations.🥂 966 views · 18 likes · 1 reposts · 0 replies Open on X →

You can't be a party's head of policy, guiding its political philosophy, and at the same time doing covert and potentially illegal financial deals with promises of access or influence. This sort of political-financial mission nullifies the doing of political philosophy. #C4News 9.4K views · 34 likes · 4 reposts · 3 replies Open on X →

4½ years in youth detention for stabbing a teacher in the head with a kitchen knife. And he'll be free in two years. No. Just no. Teachers are worth more than this. https://t.co/xtAvt1DZfb 4K views · 556 likes · 86 reposts · 12 replies Open on X →

I'm looking forward to this enormously. And to the #C4News undercover investigations into Labour, the Conservatives, the LibDems, the SNP, and the Greens. Public service broadcasting is a wonderful thing when it comes to exposing political dodgy deals and covert party funding. 14.3K views · 25 likes · 3 reposts · 7 replies Open on X →

This was an important question, incisively delivered, and I was pleased with the Prime Minister's answer and his commitment. But No.10 has now confirmed that he has not committed to spend 3% of GDP on defence by 2030. Did I mishear, or was #PMQs really just a “vibes alone”? 5K views · 30 likes · 5 reposts · 5 replies Open on X →

Andy Burnham is quite good at #PMQs, not least because he's actually answering most of the questions, but somebody needs to tell him to stop saying ‘err’ and ‘um’ every tenth word. https://t.co/0iexbXe6Ev 1.7K views · 12 likes · 0 reposts · 19 replies Open on X →

“Please note that, should your claim be accepted, an excess of £2,750.00 will be applicable but will become payable before repairs are carried out.” Bloody marvellous. 1.1K views · 1 likes · 0 reposts · 0 replies Open on X →

Heretical churches are fervent and effectual, and archbishops “deprived for heresy” are the best. 1.3K views · 0 likes · 0 reposts · 2 replies Open on X →

Most people who don’t believe in Christianity have never honestly given much thought to it, or even read a book of the Bible. Going to church (even one that in my view is heretical) is better than never going at all. 3.1K views · 94 likes · 4 reposts · 6 replies Open on X →

Kemi Badenoch points out that Andy Burnham is still talking about Margaret thatcher - someone who became PM nearly 50 years ago. “He is living in the past and wants to take us back to the 1970s.” 9.1K views · 386 likes · 28 reposts · 23 replies Open on X →

I was planning on selling my house this autumn and downsizing to a thatched cottage to be mortgage-free (at last), but I seem to have subsidence caused by contracting clay in this long, hot summer. I’m told by my insurers it will take two years to remedy. God knows why. https://t 18.1K views · 58 likes · 0 reposts · 17 replies Open on X →
