@CleanPowerDave From what I've heard its mostly african businesses that install rooftop solar. They before would be running Diesel generators in order to have reliable electricity for production and cooling.
Now they massively switch to solar + battery, with really fast pay off

The exports of solar **panels** from China to Africa is pretty robust data, but the same is NOT true of cells and wafer exports.

One driver for distributed solar is the high cost of diesel in the energy crisis.
Africa spent $2.4b importing Chinese panels in last 12 months; generating the same electricity from diesel would cost around that EVERY THREE MONTHS.
