From the socialist newspaper, 'The Clarion' (1895): The Norman came to England to take our land away. We fought him, but he conquered. Alack, the woeful day! He took our land and gave it to his soldiers fierce and bold. And ever since they’ve held it, and still they mean to 5.5K views · 61 likes · 11 reposts · 3 replies Open on X →
'[A] more radical, option exists, discussed in hushed tones on the outer fringes of Labour circles. Some within call themselves the “Based Left”, only semi-ironically, and they speak of a “politics of production” and “national preference”. I hope the PR advocates in Labour realise that the consequence of electoral reform will be to end future Labour majority governments and to make the Liberal Democrats the kingmakers at most elections.
