We mid- and post-trained Persimmon starting from NVIDIA's 550b Nemotron 3 Ultra model, using thousands of Blackwell-generation GPUs, leveraging the cluster we recently built
Persimmon is an early release, and there's still much more to do: tool use, longer horizons, and more htt

In our tests, an AI judge could almost always spot conversations generated by frontier assistant models prompted to simulate people
Compared to these models, Persimmon's conversations were much harder to distinguish from human ones https://t.co/R74VJXe7Hv

Why this model category? User models let us roll out a hypothetical situation or explore the consequences of an event or decision
Good user models are a key step towards AI that understands the differences between people and how they change https://t.co/1qm6P5wQFI

As you have likely seen, AI text often has tells that make it bad at capturing the real distribution of human conversations. Assistant-simulated conversations are less diverse than human conversations and evolve more predictably https://t.co/XKuqlCThnd

For AI to work with us, it needs to understand us
Today, we're introducing Persimmon, the first large-scale model designed to realistically simulate how people talk and interact https://t.co/KG3rahQphQ

Many important directions for innovation are not (yet!) prioritized by big AI labs - without open weights, only those established labs would be able to decide what training directions are worth pursuing. We're proud to cosign this letter and support an innovative AI ecosystem htt

At humans&, we train models from the long-term impacts of their interactions with people. This requires prioritizing long-horizon multi-agent RL. We've developed and are excited to share an open-source, hardware-native 4-bit RL recipe, significantly accelerating training https://

That is where we believe the next chapter of AI should begin. This requires rethinking everything about how we train models at scale and how people interact with AI. This needs innovations in long-horizon and multi-agent reinforcement learning, memory, and user understanding

No one changes the world alone. AI models are rapidly learning to reason better, code faster, and take actions in the world with increasing autonomy. But for humans, progress happens when we understand one another, build trust, make connections, and work together

Today we introduce humans&, a human-centric frontier AI lab. We believe AI can be reimagined, centering around people and their relationships with each other. At its best, AI should serve as a deeper connective tissue that strengthens organizations and communities https://t.co/eq
