Our analysis from NHANES suggested that LPa only had a prognostic impact in those at high cv risk ➡️ https://t.co/50Z2I03ahv Reducing LPa in those with well controlled RF at low cv risk probably wont represent a meaningful tx strategy Will be interesting to see whether there is 5.2K views · 47 likes · 11 reposts · 0 replies Open on X →
Will be interesting to see data from the ≥90 mg/dL Subgroup If thats also negative will need a major rethink re LPa story 6.2K views · 25 likes · 2 reposts · 5 replies Open on X →

10. Most importantly have fun and enjoy what your doing. I have enjoyed working with some of the brightest most diverse minds across the globe. I have enjoyed discussing methodology, developing clinical questions and most importantly watching people flourish to be independent 3K views · 51 likes · 1 reposts · 5 replies Open on X →
9. Invest in people. Give people a chance. Some of my very best fellows have had to fight to get to where they are in their careers often moving countries and sacrificing living with their families. They werent necessarily the strongest people on paper when i met them but were 3.4K views · 45 likes · 3 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →
8. When you become a group leader- use your privilege. Support younger academics both within / outwith your group. Support women / academics from developing countries where barriers have traditionally been much higher. Being senior author when you have hundreds of papers wont 2.7K views · 43 likes · 3 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →
7. Not all papers that i have published have made a meaningful contribution to science- But they were meaningful to the person that wrote them Even if you dont think that the paper is great- try your best to improve it and be respectful to the fellow / individual that spent 2.7K views · 43 likes · 2 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →
@mmamas1973 Congratulations!!! I would not call it "sort of" landmark @mmamas1973 😀. I feel honored to have collaborated with you. Thanks for your sharing your inspiring pearls of wisdom. 771 views · 8 likes · 0 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →
6. Think about your collaboration network- dont go to the same academics all the time. Try to build networks, be diverse- no one wants to see a MANEL. Give people opportunities -someone who doesnt get invited often to papers will invest a lot of time in your work. 2.3K views · 36 likes · 2 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →
5. Treat every paper as though you are the senior author in terms of feedback / time investment. Someone has spent several months / years producing this paper. Providing superficial edits is insulting at best- that isnt the way to create meaningful collaborations 2.8K views · 43 likes · 2 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →
4. Dont be afraid to turn down coauthorship - it may be because you dont think analysis is robust or you have no expertise in area or you dont have time to meaningfully contribute 2.5K views · 35 likes · 1 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →
3. Never co-author a manuscript where you dont understand methods. Again i have removed myself from authorship in such situations 2.8K views · 36 likes · 2 reposts · 2 replies Open on X →
2. Like everything in life- treat others as you would want to be treated yourself. People that do the work should be recognised. If they lead the manuscript they should be first author. Anything else is dishonest. Only take senior authorship if you have led manuscript / ideas, 4.3K views · 73 likes · 7 reposts · 6 replies Open on X →
1. After 24 years i have achieved a sort of landmark- i have published my 1000th peer reviewed publication ➡️ https://t.co/JqW6CB9pjf My first paper was around spinal cord injury, and for the 1000th paper It is fitting that it was: Percutaneous Coronary Intervention in the UK: 96.1K views · 760 likes · 81 reposts · 111 replies Open on X →
