The unguarded markets are so easy to miss.
I know founders who spent years competing for the loud, contested space.
But the win that compounded came from the neglected one they only noticed because everyone else looked away.

You sleep well at night. You sleep well because the outcome doesn’t own you. The outcome doesn’t own you because your ego let go of the result. You are calm. You are detached. You are ready to celebrate a win or cop a loss. Peace comes from one fact most people fight: you control

How to do work worth doing:
Build the output and the self in the same motion.
I'm convinced that meaningful work has two sides.
That what you make in the world and what gets made in you are the same project running on two tracks.
Especially when there's a mission behind it. h

In 2018, this newspaper said I was calling for "faster, cheaper IT training."
they had no idea I was calling for a revolution.
Back then, 43,000 ITT Tech students had just discovered their $85,000 degrees were worthless. The school collapsed. The debt remained.
I'd just left h

@projectkim I rarely bring myself to throw away Apple's boxes. Either I keep them for when I trade in or re-sell, or just keep them all at the back of a cupboard. They're works of art.

Most founders focus on the product.
Great founders obsess over the entire experience.
What "boxes" are you designing in your business?
Remember: Excellence isn't expensive, it's attention to detail.
That's the difference between good and insanely great.

The lesson?
Details matter. Even the ones customers throw away.
Your product isn't just what you're selling.
It's every single moment of the customer experience.
As Jobs said: "The back of the fence is just as important as the front." https://t.co/Fsj77kTldr

Apple even patented its iPhone and iPad boxes.
Each new product gets unique packaging design.
The company invests millions in this experience.
Why? Because Jobs believed excellence is in the details. https://t.co/9OysRJfMlP

The impact was revolutionary:
• Unboxing became a cultural phenomenon
• Competitors started investing in packaging
• YouTube channels dedicated to Apple unboxing
Design schools analyze Apple's approach to such an extent that: https://t.co/QmLHmFBuDd

For the original iPhone box, they obsessed over:
• The paper's texture and finish
• The sequence of the unboxing
• The lid's resistance when opening
• How each component was revealed
Every element was intentional.

Their design principles were meticulous:
• Perfect box edges
• Layered product reveal
• Premium materials only
• Precise opening experience
The team spent weeks testing different papers, boxes, and textures. https://t.co/2ZqM0VCCiM

Jobs' obsession shocked everyone:
"The box is the first moment of truth. It's when you begin to communicate what the product is about."
Most CEOs would call this wasteful, but Jobs saw something deeper:
Packaging could create an emotional connection: https://t.co/gKaMp1N3jl

Enter Jony Ive.
A brilliant industrial designer who caught Jobs' attention.
Jobs promoted him to Senior VP of Design.
Together, they would revolutionize not just products, but how they're presented: https://t.co/kN4OQ6A9aP

1995: Jobs returned to a struggling Apple.
While competitors focused on specs and features, he saw something different:
The experience starts before you touch the product.
It begins the moment you see the box: https://t.co/bdPaqhrRZP

Apple spent millions designing boxes you'll throw away.
Microsoft laughed at them.
But this 'wasteful' obsession is now studied in design schools worldwide.
Here is the crazy psychological principle they discovered which changed sales forever: https://t.co/uAlm9TNRlr
