If you could erase generative AI and take software development back to 2020, would you push the button? Or are you in too deep now? 😅 9K views · 31 likes · 4 reposts · 28 replies Open on X →

AI took the enjoyment out of coding for many people. It kills the flow state. I wanted to compare AI vs manual coding and propose more of a hybrid workflow to get that flow back. My goal is not to just trash AI but to find better ways to work with it https://t.co/mDxf2wzWXc http

One example from the small-business side: I saw a restaurant ordering app built by another freelancer that took credit cards through an insecure form and stored them as plain text in the database. AI code has real problems, especially at scale. But bad, rrushed code were already 4.8K views · 104 likes · 6 reposts · 7 replies Open on X →

@traversymedia Everybody be like they were "Leonardo Codevinci" before AI. Just watch the videos of former FANG employees talking about accepting spaghetti code pull requests after reading 5 lines of code. The supposed pinnacle of software development and they do the same crap 949 views · 10 likes · 1 reposts · 0 replies Open on X →

There are a lot of issues with AI code, but we have to stop pretending that everyone's code was beautiful before. As a freelancer/consultant, some of you wouldn't believe the crap I had to fix. Stuff that AI would NEVER do 😄 I would have much rather those "devs" use AI 48.8K views · 1.1K likes · 92 reposts · 91 replies Open on X →

I have been struggling to decide what my next TM/Udemy course should be. It has to be something I genuinely feel will help people. The idea I keep coming back to is “Vibe Coder to Full-Stack Developer.” Let me explain why. Up until a couple of years ago, a beginner was someone 23.2K views · 348 likes · 12 reposts · 74 replies Open on X →

@traversymedia Very fast. Working on 3+ projects at the same time + on my 9-5 is currently very hard to handle. I do a lot of sport every day to compensate. But it’s still rough as fuck on some days and I really feel it. Turning the brain off in the evening is extremely hard. 350 views · 2 likes · 0 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →

@traversymedia 100% the way. I mean sure I do multiple projects at once, but there's only 1 or 2 that I'm concentrating on. The important one's where the results matter. The stakes have changed, the game has changed. Time to swing for the fences, disrupt or go home. 373 views · 4 likes · 0 reposts · 0 replies Open on X →

@traversymedia When you're working on projects for different clients, avoiding that is basically impossible, but it definitely drains you. I end up burning way more tokens on a project just because I'm already mentally drained from switching between different codebases. 243 views · 2 likes · 0 reposts · 1 replies Open on X →

When using AI to code, be careful about constantly switching between projects. It may not feel exhausting in the moment, but it can burn you out fast. The goal shouldn't be to create as much as possible. It should be to build useful things and actually finish them. 24.9K views · 762 likes · 71 reposts · 55 replies Open on X →
