Then again, that’s exactly when things can get interesting.
TCS is down 40 to 45 percent.
Infosys is down 40 to 45 percent.
Midcap IT dropped 25 to 30 percent.

How to split ₹100.
For an aggressive investor with an 8–10 year horizon, Kirtan’s framework is simple:
70% → Indian domestic equity

Nifty at ~20.4x isn't screaming “bargain.”
But after years of elevated valuations, valuation isn't the same headwind anymore.
The market now has to earn its next move through profit growth, not higher multiples.

But there’s one big catch.
A 20x market is reasonable only if those earnings actually arrive.
If FY27 profits disappoint, today's 20x can quickly start looking expensive again.
So earnings growth and revisions become the numbers to watch.

The risk has essentially moved from valuation → execution.
At ~20x, Nifty isn't cheap like March 2020.
But if earnings accelerate while valuations simply stay where they are, returns can come from profits rather than re-rating.

Imagine Nifty earnings grow 12%.
Even if P/E stays exactly at 20x, the index can still broadly rise with those earnings.
That's very different from a market trading at 25–30x, where both earnings growth AND expensive valuations need to hold.
