That is the true edge.
Stop looking for the next big stock.
Stop guessing the next move.
Stop having an opinion on every news flash.
Stick to the plan.

irst things first, he spoke about AI.
Two years ago, everyone bought AI like it was the only trade on the planet.
And India largely missed out on that story. We didn’t have the fancy language models or the big chip companies.
But Kirtan says that may have actually worked in

Take on Indian giants.
Bigger names like HDFC, Kotak Bank, Asian Paints, DMart, ITC are some of the most well-known companies in India.
But according to Kirtan, investors haven’t made much money in several of these names over the last five years.
So the question isn’t just:

How to split ₹100.
For an aggressive investor with an 8–10 year horizon, Kirtan’s framework is simple:
70% → Indian domestic equity
15% → Gold
15% → Nasdaq
Within the 70% domestic allocation, he recommends an equal split between large, mid and small caps, with different

The crowd hates IT.
Then again, that’s exactly when things can get interesting.
TCS is down 40 to 45 percent.
Infosys is down 40 to 45 percent.
Midcap IT dropped 25 to 30 percent.
That is why Kirtan looks at them while everyone is moving away.
They’re trading at around 17–18

@MotilalOswalLtd Nifty is a motley of stocks, if you change the stocks to the ones in favour today, nifty will be at P/E of 27 and P/B of 6,[eg.], you should say the current stock population in nifty, not performing, will perform once the mid/small cap fever dies out.

Bottom line:
Nifty at ~20.4x isn't screaming “bargain.”
But after years of elevated valuations, valuation isn't the same headwind anymore.
The market now has to earn its next move through profit growth, not higher multiples.

But there’s one big catch.
A 20x market is reasonable only if those earnings actually arrive.
If FY27 profits disappoint, today's 20x can quickly start looking expensive again.
So earnings growth and revisions become the numbers to watch.

The risk has essentially moved from valuation → execution.
At ~20x, Nifty isn't cheap like March 2020.
But if earnings accelerate while valuations simply stay where they are, returns can come from profits rather than re-rating.

And that's why today's setup is interesting.
For much of 2023–24, the question was:
“Can India justify such expensive valuations?”

Imagine Nifty earnings grow 12%.
Even if P/E stays exactly at 20x, the index can still broadly rise with those earnings.
That's very different from a market trading at 25–30x, where both earnings growth AND expensive valuations need to hold.

But here's the more interesting number:
Forward P/E is below trailing P/E.
Why? Because FY27 earnings are expected to be higher.

And another valuation measure tells the same story.
Nifty P/B is around 2.9x, versus a long-term average closer to 3.6x.
Dividend yield is around 1.2%.
Different measures. Similar message: Valuations aren't stretched anymore.

Let’s put 20.4x in perspective.
COVID low: ~17.1x
Today: ~20.4x
10-year average: ~23.4x
2021 peak: ~42x
We’re nowhere near crisis valuations. But we're also far from expensive territory.

Nifty is trading at ~20.4x earnings.
Its 10-year average? ~23.4x.
So after years of investors worrying that India was “too expensive,” valuations are now 12–13% below the historical average.
But does that actually make Nifty cheap? 👇

There's a candle that barely has a body at all, just a cross or a T shape. And depending on which way that T points, it means completely different things.
Here's how to read it. https://t.co/8e50jeo6Iq
