The Atlantic hurricane season's struggles continue, and not just from record-setting, El Niño-driven wind shear. The basin has been plagued with high pressure and sinking air, starving systems like the one today of organized storminess. My latest ⬇️ https://t.co/KQfNjE3KEd https

Well researched and thought-provoking piece from @BenNollWeather discussing a possible factor that may be pushing the hurricane season peak back into later September, and it could be linked to global warming ⬇️ 1.7K views · 7 likes · 0 reposts · 0 replies Open on X →

I've seen a lot of hand waving about the dust this season and how it's playing into the historically inactive Atlantic so far. Trust me, it's not the dust. Blame it on a myriad issues (++El Niño, dry and stable MDR, vanishing TEJ), but Atlantic dust cover is 5th lowest on record.

@MichaelRLowry @NWS @NOAA Pathetic. We live in the dumbest TL ever. "Honoring the American history of the Great Lakes?" Fuck off. 338 views · 14 likes · 0 reposts · 0 replies Open on X →

The @NWS is proceeding with renaming Lake Ontario to Lake America in all forecast products and maps. These sort of changes require extensive coding time for @NOAA and @NWS personnel to implement across so many different products that regularly reference them. 39.3K views · 75 likes · 21 reposts · 14 replies Open on X →
