I've seen a lot of hand waving about the dust this season and how it's playing into the historically inactive Atlantic so far. Trust me, it's not the dust. Blame it on a myriad issues (++El Niño, dry and stable MDR, vanishing TEJ), but Atlantic dust cover is 5th lowest on record.
