@MountVernon 🧵I am so ashamed that President Trump, upon visiting Mount Vernon (in his first term) asked why Washington had named his house “Mount Vernon,” and opined that it would have been better if Washington had named it after himself, 😔! I apologize for the hurt that must have caused.
