U.S. regular gasoline prices peaked around $4.11 per gallon in July 2008. They began declining right away as oil prices fell and demand softened: Late July: already around $3.96–$3.98 Mid-to-late October: below $3 Mid-November: $2.07–$2.22 Late November: around $1.89–$1.99
