We already knew that from the retail sales data. Conversely I was more encouraged by the PCE data; positive revisions for Q2 (now a heady 3.6% SAAR) and spending on services in July was around par at +30bps m/m. Goods spending in July was hammered by mismatch in Prime Day timing.
