I was planning on selling my house this autumn and downsizing to a thatched cottage to be mortgage-free (at last), but I seem to have subsidence caused by contracting clay in this long, hot summer. I’m told by my insurers it will take two years to remedy. God knows why. https://t.co/jtHSRMc9HO
