@ThomasWhit66299 Yes, I think part of it was to convince Carney to wait until after the midterms... thinking Trump might gain favor from the electorate if Trump sealed the negotiations with Canada. This way Trump gets no credit for sealing the deal....and Canada may get themselves a better deal
